I started STEM Anywhere because not every student has access to a school lab, a science club, or a teacher who can hand them beakers and a Bunsen burner. Most of the best STEM learning I've had came from experiments I put together myself, with things I already had around the house.
This site is a growing collection of hands-on experiments across biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, computer science, and environmental science — sorted by age, budget, and how much time you have, so that curiosity is the only requirement to get started.
It's also a place to share what you've tried: the Community section is for experiments other students have submitted, so this keeps growing beyond what I could come up with alone. Every one of those goes through a review step before it's public — see the Safety page for what that means.
How every experiment here is checked, and what the supervision levels mean.
Every built-in experiment on this site lists its recommended age range, whether adult supervision is needed, any known hazards, precautions to take, and how to clean up — before you ever see the steps. Nothing on that list is guessed: if an experiment's safety information isn't complete, it doesn't get published.
Anyone can submit an experiment through the Community page, but nothing goes live automatically. Submissions require the same safety fields as built-in experiments — age range, supervision level, hazards, precautions, and cleanup — and a person reviews each one for completeness and plausibility before approving it. That review checks the submission is complete and reasonable; it isn't a substitute for using your own judgment, especially for anything involving heat, chemicals, or supervision.
